We are seeking a Head of Department to lead our Department of Pharmacy and Pharmacology.

This is an outstanding opportunity to play a critical role in leading the continuing development of a highly successful department.  Reporting to the Dean of the Faculty of Science, you will have a major contribution to make to the future development of the Faculty and the University in addition to the Department.

This appointment is for a defined fixed period as Head of Department (normally three years) which may be extended. On completion of this fixed period the postholder would move back into their professorial / senior academic role.

We are seeking a highly capable leader with the vision to provide strategic direction to the Department, allied to a strong national and ideally international standing as a scholar and commitment to maintaining an active research profile. The individual will need good people-leadership skills to ensure development of a collegiate approach across all functions within the Department and the ability to form key strategic relationships outside the University.

The successful appointee will receive an additional managerial allowance which recognises the seniority and wide ranging responsibilities of the role.
